Run the Rock 5K at Luck Stone Leesburg

Run the Rock | Leesburg is a trail running event held at an active rock quarry in Ashburn, Virginia. This event is hosted at the Luck Stone Leesburg Plant and provides participants with the opportunity to traverse a course within an industrial mining facility. The race is part of a series that has previously taken place at other sites in Rockville, Greene, and Mount Airy.

The event features a gravel course, and organizers recommend that participants wear trail running shoes. The race is open to a variety of participants, including those using strollers and runners with leashed dogs. However, coolers and alcohol are strictly prohibited on the grounds. Results are tracked in real-time, allowing for live monitoring of participant progress.

Every participant receives several items, including a race day shirt in either youth or adult sizes, a custom water bottle, a bag, a hot/cold pack, and a sticker. All finishers are awarded a medal. Awards are presented to the overall top female and male champions, as well as winners across ten different age group divisions, ranging from ages 8 and under to 70 and over.

The event includes amenities such as on-site parking and a post-race party. Family activities are available on-site, including face painting, a bounce house, yard games, and a touch-a-truck display.
