Farm Park Challenge : Derwood, Maryland

The Farm Park Challenge is a trail running event presented by the My Muddy Shoes trail running club and held at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, Maryland. It is scheduled on the first Saturday each May, with the next edition on May 2, 2026.

The event centers on a lap format in which each lap must be completed in under one hour. Laps start at the top of each hour; finishing a lap in less than an hour permits rest until the next lap begins. To complete a lap successfully, the entire course must be covered in under one hour.

Distance and format options:

  • 3-Hour Challenge: 3 laps, one lap per hour
  • 6-Hour Challenge: 6 laps, one lap per hour
  • 10-Hour Challenge: 10 laps, one lap per hour
  • Conventionally timed marathon and 25K are also offered

The event includes an aid station and is described by organizers as having a fast course and a relaxed atmosphere. Volunteers receive the same shirt and an etched pint glass as finishers and may run the course before or after their volunteer shift.
