Course descriptions highlight terrain and features. The 5K follows double track trail south, turns toward the river after about 2K through small boulder gardens, then follows the river back to the finish. The 10K uses single and double track trails for 4-5K, then descends toward the Spokane River near the "Devils Toenail" rapids and follows single track back. The 25K climbs from the initial 4K of the 10K route up basalt cliffs, passes equestrian areas, meanders through rolling hills and pine forest, climbs to a bluff overlooking the river, then returns to the river and finish.
The 25K Challenge adds significant elevation gain, technical sections, a major climb at 16K, single track routes through areas called "Craters of the Moon," and a fast downhill final 5-6K. The 50K combines the 25K and 25K Challenge into a single course and allows a drop bag at the midpoint near the start/finish. The 50K Relay divides the 50K into four legs of 8.75, 6.75, 8.25, and 7.25 miles, with one water station at mile 4 on the first leg. The 25K Tag Team is a two-person relay with legs of about 8.25 and 7.25 miles, transitioning near the Centennial Trail Military Cemetery Trailhead.
