Zero Dark Ultra, Spokane, WA

Zero Dark Ultra is a self-supported running and rucking event held at the Phase One Training Grounds in Spokane, WA. Event options include a 24-hour run, a 12-hour run, a 12-hour ruck, and the Tiny Titans Ultra, which pairs parents and children for one loop together. The event emphasizes moving through darkness with a focus on resilience and reflection.

The course is a 1.58 mile continuous loop on dirt and wood chip trail. Ruck participants must use a pack or vest that does not exceed 45 pounds. There is one semi-stocked aid station located at the start/finish in the main parking lot; participants are encouraged to be largely self-sufficient. Required items include a headlamp, running gear, food, water, and electrolytes. Medical support will be on site.

Logistics note that parking is available in designated spaces and there are designated areas for personal tent setup. Crew access is permitted in a tented section of the parking lot as authorized by the trail owners. Check-in takes place at the race location the day before and on event day, and a pre-race briefing is scheduled for each event.

Participants receive a Phase One T shirt and finisher awards in the form of a patch. The event currently does not offer refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
