Whitewater Trail Challenge

Whitewater, United States • 20 Jun 2026

Event Overview

The Whitewater Trail Challenge takes place at Rice Lake near the town of Whitewater, Wisconsin. The event utilizes a portion of the Ice Age Trail, which is one of eleven National Scenic Trails in the United States. This 1,200 mile footpath is designed to highlight the geographical impact of ice age glaciers on the Wisconsin landscape.

The course is an out and back route starting from the Rice Lake Nature Trail. Participants experience a variety of terrain throughout the natural areas. The trail conditions transition between smooth, well-maintained sections and technical segments where the footing changes frequently.

The event features three distinct race distances:

  • 50K
  • Half Marathon
  • 10K

The race is part of the Spartan Trail series and explores a scenic section of the larger trail network. The venue is located at Rice Lake Nature Trail (Lot 1 & 2), 221 North Prince St. Special registration rates are available for teams, and discount programs are in place for US military members, first responders, and government employees through a verification system.
