Course and logistics

The course uses a scenic portion of the Ice Age Trail, an approximately 1,200 mile footpath in Wisconsin and one of eleven National Scenic Trails. The Whitewater route is an out-and-back from Rice Lake near the town of Whitewater. Trail surfaces vary from smooth and well maintained to extremely technical, and footing can change quickly.

Course maps and elevation profiles are provided for each distance. Safety-based intermediate cutoffs will be indicated by race staff and volunteers. Mandatory equipment noted for the 50K includes a 1 liter water carrying capacity.
