Course, entry and policies
The course is entirely on trail except for a few road crossings. About 65 miles of the course run on the Ice Age Trail. Registration for the event involves a lottery process: the lottery signup window is December 1–30, with a drawing on January 1. Entrants not selected are placed on the waitlist; the waitlist opens once registration fills.
An honor-system requirement asks entrants to complete 8 hours of volunteer work in their local community to be eligible to run. A Wisconsin IDNR parking pass is required for every car; race entries include a parking pass to be picked up at packet pickup on Friday. Early bird pricing applies during the lottery period and ends December 31. The organizer states there are no refunds or transfers.
