Quiet Silence
Quiet Silence is a night running event in Lake Mills, WI, organized by TYDISH Running and scheduled for December 18, 2026. The event offers two out and back distances on a wide, flat crushed limestone rails to trails corridor with minimal technical features.
- 31 mile out and back distance
- 16 mile out and back distance
The course is set in late season conditions after dark. Trail maintenance is not guaranteed; sections may be clear, snow covered, drifted, or soft enough to post hole. Participants should be prepared for variable winter trail conditions and carry appropriate gear.
Aid and support vary by distance. The 16 mile turnaround provides fluids, an electrolyte drink, light snacks, and a drop bag location; drop bags are returned to the start and retrieval times are not guaranteed. The 31 mile turnaround includes a full aid station with hot and cold drinks, food, a covered lit tent, chairs, heaters, and volunteers. Portable toilets are available at the start and at the 31 mile turnaround; there is no toilet at the 16 mile turnaround.
Finishers receive a token item that is not a medal. The top three women and top three men in each distance receive an additional special gift. Organizers do not allow loud noisemakers, will not serve alcohol, and do not provide disposable cups at aid stations; participants must bring their own drinking vessel.
Per local safety guidelines, participants must wear two rear facing and one forward facing red lights with a blinking option and have at least ten square inches of reflective material on both the front and back of outer layers.
