Feel The Burn 2026

Feel The Burn 2026 is a prairie run and walk held at Lapham Peak State Forest in Delafield, WI on July 11, 2026. The route uses grass hiking and mountain bike trails through prairie areas; some sections are described as lined with flowers and located on the west side of Highway C where prescribed burns are used for prairie management.

The event serves as a major fundraiser for prairie management at Lapham Peak State Forest. The first 100 participants will receive a short sleeve t-shirt and run winners receive awards. Awards may be picked up in the Lapham Lodge shortly after finishing or when results are posted.

Day of registration will be available at the new Lapham Lodge in the Evergreen parking lot. A Wisconsin State Park sticker or a $10 special event fee is required for participation. The event includes separate run and walk divisions for adults, for ages 13 to 19, and for children 12 and under, with different registration fees for each category.

A related activity on June 21 highlights invasive species and features speakers, a food truck, and prairie plant seeds available for purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
