Trails and Terrain

The Spacerock Trail Race takes place at the Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in Agua Dulce, California. The park features unique rock formations, canyons, and diverse terrain. Participants traverse a variety of surfaces, including packed dirt, sandy creek beds, rocks, and boulders. A notable feature for specific distances is the "black hole" tunnel, a 500-foot underground passage that leads runners toward the Pacific Crest Trail.

Distance Options

The event offers four distinct loop courses:

• Half Marathon+: A route totaling just under 14 miles with approximately 3,200 feet of elevation gain and descent.
• 15K: A course featuring a mountain climb and single-track sections on the Pacific Crest Trail.
• 10K: A loop through the trails inside Vasquez Rocks with moderate climbing.
• 5K: A shorter trail loop suitable for hikers and those new to trail running.

Event Services and Sustainability

The event operates as a cupless race to minimize waste. No disposable paper cups are provided at aid stations; participants are required to bring their own water bottles, hydration packs, or collapsible cups. Between two and six aid stations are available depending on the race distance, offering water, electrolytes, gels, and snacks.

Registered participants receive several perks, including a collectible finisher medal, an official race shirt, a space-themed gear bag, and a finisher certificate.
