Phoenix Running South Wales operates the Cheeky Fox timed, multi-lap running event at the Rock UK Summit Centre, The Old Drift Mine, Trelewis, Merthyr Tydfil CF46 6RD, within Parc Taf Bargoed.

Participants run an out-and-back lap of 5.3 km (3.28 miles) and may complete as many laps as they wish within a seven hour time limit. Distances offered include:

• Half marathon
• Marathon
• Ultra

The course is multi-terrain. Most of the route uses tarmac paths, with approximately 0.5 miles on riverside trail. The overall course has an elevation gain of 37 m. Parc Taf Bargoed is a Green Flag park noted for its views and landscape shaped by past industry and redevelopment.

A flexible "rock up and run" start format is used so participants can start at varied times; special start time requests may be considered depending on the planned distance. A Welsh Athletics race license has been applied for.

Entry options include standard entries that receive a bespoke finishers medal and a lower-cost no medal entry from £20.
