Smurf's Backyard Ultra
Smurf's Backyard Ultra takes place in Cairns, Far North Queensland. The event is held at the Smithfield Mountain Bike Park Trail head on McGregor Road. Participants run through a tropical setting utilizing the trail network of the Smithfield Mountain Bike Trails.
The event follows a traditional backyard ultra format or a shortened introductory version:
- Backyard Ultra: Runners complete a 6.7 km lap on the hour, every hour, until they can no longer continue.
- Backyard Mini: Participants complete up to six 6.7 km laps on the hour.
The Backyard Mini option allows participants to experience the format with a fixed limit. There is an option for Mini participants to continue beyond six laps on the day of the event by paying the entry fee difference.
