Goldsborough Goldrush
Goldsborough Goldrush is a trail running event held at the Goldsborough Valley Day Use Area in Wooroonooran National Park. All courses are out-and-back along the rainforested Goldfields Trail and the event takes place on 12 September 2026.
Distances offered include:
- 5 km - Nugget
- 10 km - Eureka 10
- 18 km - Causeway Crusade
- Marathon - Goldrush Marathon
The Nugget follows the flat, grassy Mulgrave River valley floor. The Eureka 10 continues into shaded rainforest on a wide, undulating earthen track. The Causeway Crusade reaches the East Mulgrave Causeway turnaround point. The Goldrush Marathon follows a historic rainforest trail, crosses several creeks and climbs a saddle between the peaks Bartle Frere and Bellenden Ker, with around 1,115 m of overall elevation gain.
Runners must be self-sufficient on course. There is no mandatory gear list, but marathon participants are advised to carry water and nutrition. Water can be refilled at the checkpoint at Babinda Boulders and at creeks along the route. Mobile reception is patchy on course and absent at the start-finish location.
Entries open 15 August 2026 and registrations close 3 September 2026. Camping is available through National Parks bookings and a BBQ brunch or lunch is planned after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
