Slate Run Trail Race
The Slate Run Trail Race is the eighth annual running event offering two distances through the remote mountains of Tiadaghton State Forest near Slate Run, Pennsylvania. The course passes through the Algerine Wild Area and the Red Run sections of the Black Forest Trail and includes technical single-track, stream crossings, and notable uphill and downhill segments with long views.
Distances:
- 25K
- Half Marathon
Both distances use the same trail for the first nine miles. At the Manor Fork camps, half marathon runners follow a road to the final aid station and then proceed to the finish. 25K runners continue on trail along a streambed and ascend Old Supply Trail. The cut-off for the shared nine-mile section is noon; after that time, all participants will be directed onto the half marathon course.
Registration opens December 16, 2025 at 7:00 pm via Ultrasignup and is limited to the first 400 runners or to May 18, whichever occurs first. Entry rules state no refunds, no deferrals, no switches between races, and no unofficial participants. Course maps and race day information are provided for the event. Photographs from prior years are available from event media collections. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
