Slate Run Trail Race
Slate Run Trail Race is a trail running event in Slate Run, Pennsylvania, held in Tiadaghton State Forest near 153 Yoder Lane. Distances offered include:
- 25K
- Half Marathon
The course passes through the Algerine Wild Area and the Red Run sections of the Black Forest Trail. The route uses remote, rugged mountain terrain and includes technical single track, stream crossings, and scenic vistas.
Both distances follow the same trail for the first nine miles. At the Manor Fork camps half marathon runners follow a road to the last aid station and then to the finish. 25K runners continue on trail along the streambed and then climb Old Supply Trail. The cut off for that nine mile section is 12 noon; that segment is described as nine miles in three hours with one big hill and the remainder runnable. After 12 noon all runners will be directed onto the half course. Half marathon runners must be through the Manor Camp intersection by 1pm or they will be pulled from the course. In 2025 all entrants met the 1pm cut off.
Registration opens December 16 at 8pm via Ultrasignup. The event accepts the first 250 runners or registrations until May 20, whichever comes first. Event policies state there are no refunds, no deferrals, no switches, and no bandits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
