SISU 24 Ultra PNW is a self supported trail running event held at Camp Sheppard near Mount Rainier and Crystal Mountain. The event combines marked out-and-back trails, a points system for route choices, and optional side quests during a multi day camp experience. Registration includes three days of camping with access to restrooms, showers, BBQ stands, and sinks. The campground is about 40 minutes from the nearest city.

Race format and logistics are participant driven. Runners set up a base camp, check in at the timing table before each outing, and carry an ink pad and quest log to stamp at the furthest point of each trail. Participants must check out and check in for safety and tracking. Some trails take runners far from camp and must be completed end to end; shortcuts are not permitted.

Trail and quest details:

• 100 Mile solo with approximately 25,000 ft elevation gain and a 32 hour cutoff
• 24 hour solo choose your own routes and earn points from main and side quests
• 24 hour team of three; team points equal the sum of individual points

Six marked trails range from about 3 miles to 18.9 miles. Water sources are available on route; a water purification method is required. Side quests include trail specific challenges and separate activities such as midnight yoga, service projects, and puzzle tasks. Awards include a wood round finisher medal, top finishing prizes, a buckle for 100 mile finishers, a SISU Spirit Award, and a SISU Miles award. Participants receive a race t shirt with registration; early selection is advised. Required gear includes a headlamp, hydration, a water filter, food for 24 hours, and an ink pad.
