Course and rules
The route begins at the resort base area, follows the Kelly’s Gap service road for about 1.7 miles to the Green Valley trail, then climbs to Grubstake (race high point at 6,861 feet). The course follows the summit ridgeline past the gondola and Summit House, then drops onto technical single-track that links to the Crystal Mountain Trail. The route passes Powder Bowl, Bear Pits, Elizabeth Lake, Henskin Lake, Silver Creek Trail and Gold Hill before returning on a service road to the finish at the resort base. The course is on the Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. A strict cut-off at the Crystal Mountain summit (top of gondola) is enforced at 1.5 hours; competitors over the cut-off will ride the gondola down. Timing uses a disposable chip on the back of the bib. Prizes are awarded by division; Pro prizes include cash for the top three, and Expert and Sport divisions receive gear awards.
