Silver Moon Race: Kings River

The Silver Moon Race: Kings River takes place in Reedley, California, at Reedley College. The event is scheduled for the weekend closest to a full moon.

Participants can register for several distances and formats:

  • 12K: Three laps (approximately 7.5 miles).
  • 6-Hour, 12-Hour, 24-Hour: Runners complete as many laps as possible within the designated time limit.
  • 100-Mile: Finishers must complete 40 laps within 30 hours, reaching at least 85 miles by the 24-hour mark.

The course is a 2.5-mile loop on flat, packed farm roads through an agricultural landscape. Lap progress is tracked via a self-managed system at a central leaderboard near the aid station. Runners have access to a central checkpoint for rest and refueling during laps.

The race begins at sunset and continues overnight, finishing the following morning. All participants receive an official race shirt and a finisher certificate. The event includes chip timing, an aid station, supportive volunteers, and free race photos. A post-race brunch is offered on Sunday. 100-mile finishers receive a buckle, and top finishers receive trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
