Silent Pool 10km

This is a guided trail run of 10 km that starts and finishes at Silent Pool near Guildford, meeting at the Silent Pool car park in Albury. The entry cost is £16 per person. A car park is available at the meeting point.

The route includes sections of the North Downs Way and trails through the forest of Netley Heath before dropping down to the village of Shere. Runners pass known film locations from The Holiday and Bridget Jones Diary. The course uses a mix of wide trails suitable for conversation and narrower single-track sections.

The event is offered as both sunset runs during lighter months and night runs during darker months. Sunset runs take place at dusk with milder temperatures and extended daylight. Night runs use headtorches and are organised so participants run together in a group. Organisers provide a full kit list in advance and offer Silva headtorches and Salomon trail shoes to trial on the run.

Pace is not competitive; participants should be able to sustain an average of about 6 min/km on trails. Participants receive further practical information and instructions in the days before the run. At the end of the run a complimentary alcohol free beer from Athletic Brewing Company may be available, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
