Silent Pool 10km

This is a guided trail run of approximately 10 km that starts and finishes at Silent Pool in Albury, Surrey. The route uses a mix of wide trails and single track, and includes sections of the North Downs Way, the forest of Netley Heath and a descent into the village of Shere where several film locations are passed.

The event is run as a group rather than a race. Participants should be able to maintain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile on trail for sustained periods and have a suitable level of fitness. Runs are offered as sunset sessions during lighter months and as night runs in darker months where participants use headtorches in a guided group environment.

A full kit list is provided in advance. Silva head torches and Salomon trail shoes are available to trial on the run; sizes should be stated during registration if interested. Running Adventures supplies a range of Silva torches for trials.

Silent Pool is described as a site with historic and local stories and is also the location of a nearby gin distillery. The start location is easily accessed by car just outside Guildford. After the run a complimentary alcohol free beer from Days Brewing Company may be available subject to availability.
