Seward Solstice Run

The Seward Solstice Run is scheduled for December 19, 2026, at Seward Park in Seattle. The event offers two trail distances:

  • 4.2-mile loop
  • 10k loop

This race is the fourth event in the 2026–27 Winter Trail Series. Seward Park is a peninsula on Lake Washington with more than 100 acres of old growth forest featuring Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, and other native plants. The route follows a loop that is almost entirely in the forest and passes near the waterfront promenade.

The course begins on a wide, smooth main trail that is flat to rolling before dipping toward the tip of the peninsula. On the return, the route turns onto smaller trails that climb and traverse the western side of the peninsula. A short twisty section includes small fallen trees, roots, and other bumps before the trails widen again.

An aid station located adjacent to the start/finish provides water, Skratch Labs electrolyte drink, and assorted carbohydrate- or salty-food options. Runners on the 4.2-mile route pass the aid station once; 10k runners pass it twice.

A themed costume contest has the Glitter, Glamour, and the Galaxy theme, with separate categories for most festive group (groups of 2–12) and most festive individual per distance. Winners are selected by the organizing team and must be present to receive awards.

Registration prices vary by registration period. Runners under 20 years old receive a $10 discount on online pre-registration or event-day prices. Trails remain open to other users during the event; participants are responsible for their own safety. Dogs are not allowed on the course, and headphone and passing etiquette guidelines apply.
