Seward Solstice Run

The Seward Solstice Run is a trail event held at Seward Park in Seattle, Washington, on December 19, 2026. It is the fourth event in the 2026-27 Winter Trail Series and offers two race distances.

  • 4.2 mile trail loop
  • 10k trail loop

The course follows a loop that is almost entirely in old growth forest on a peninsula in Lake Washington. The route begins on a wide, smooth main trail that is flat to rolling, then dips downhill toward the tip of the peninsula before turning onto smaller trails on the west side. A return segment includes a twisty section with small fallen trees, roots, and other surface irregularities, then widens again toward the end of the loop.

An aid station is located adjacent to the start/finish area. Runners in the 4.2 mile distance pass the aid station once; 10k runners pass it twice. Aid station supplies may include water, electrolyte drink, and a selection of carbohydrate or salty foods such as cookies, energy bars, gels, chips, bagels, candy, fig bars, and bananas.

The event features a costume contest with a Glitter, Glamour, and the Galaxy theme. Contest categories include most festive group costume and most festive individual costume, with group entries allowed from two to twelve people. Dogs are not allowed on the course in accordance with event policies. Trail users such as pedestrians and cyclists may be present during the run, and participants are responsible for their own safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
