Course, logistics and series details

The course is a loop mostly through the park's old growth forest on the park peninsula. The route begins on a wide main trail that is flat-to-rolling, dips downhill toward the peninsula tip, then turns onto smaller trails climbing and traversing the western side. A short return segment is twisty with small fallen trees, roots, and bumps before the trail widens again. An aid station is located adjacent to the start/finish area; 4.2-mile runners pass it once and 10k runners pass it twice. Aid offerings include water, an electrolyte drink, and a selection of carbohydrate-rich or salty foods.

The event includes a costume contest with a "Glitter, Glamour, and the Galaxy" theme, separate awards for group and individual costumes per distance, and a requirement that winners be present to receive awards. Series scoring ranks participants by their best four performances, awards points in Female and Open categories, and requires at least three scores for series awards.
