Course, amenities and policies

The route is a loop that is almost entirely in Seward Park forest. The course begins on a wide, smooth main trail that is flat-to-rolling, then dips downhill toward the peninsula tip. The return section follows smaller trails on the west side of the peninsula, including a twisty segment with small fallen trees, roots, and other uneven features before widening again near the end of the loop.

An aid station is located adjacent to the start/finish area; 4.2-mile runners pass it once and 10k runners pass it twice. A themed costume contest (Glitter, Glamour, and the Galaxy) includes Most Festive Group and Most Festive Individual categories per distance; winners must be present to receive awards. Dogs are not allowed on the course under event USATF policies. Runners are asked to follow passing and headphone etiquette for the safety and comfort of others.
