Seward Solstice Run

Seward Solstice Run is a trail event held at Seward Park in Seattle, WA. The event is the fourth race in the 2026-27 Winter Trail Series and offers two course options:

  • 4.2 mile trail loop
  • 10k trail loop

The route is almost entirely inside an old growth forest on a peninsula in Lake Washington. Runners follow a loop that begins on a wide main trail that is flat to rolling, descends toward the tip of the peninsula, then returns on smaller trails that climb and traverse the western side. A short twisty section on the return includes small fallen trees, roots, and other bumps before the trail widens again.

An aid station is located adjacent to the start and finish area; 4.2 mile participants pass it once and 10k participants pass it twice. The start and finish are positioned near the park's second parking lot; to reach that lot, pass the first parking area near the beach and pottery studio and continue up Seward Park Road until a parking area appears on the right.

The event includes a themed costume contest with categories for group and individual costumes per distance. Awards require winners to be present to collect them. Youth runners under 20 are eligible for a discounted registration rate for Northwest Trail Runs events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
