Sedbergh Fell Race

Sedbergh Fell Race takes place on Saturday 16 May 2026 and features an uphill route to the summit of Winder followed by a descent back to The Showfield in Sedbergh. The event is part of the BOFRA championship counter and includes both senior and junior races.

  • Senior: 2.20 miles / 3.50 km, 1100 ft / 340 m climb
  • Under 17: 3.10 km, 230 m climb
  • Under 14: 2.60 km, 140 m climb
  • Under 12: 2.00 km, 100 m climb
  • Under 9: 1.00 km, 40 m climb

The course start was changed because of a landowner requirement so the route no longer runs through the start field; it continues up the track and follows the beck. Absolutely no dogs are allowed in the start field because it is school playing fields. Historical results and race reports are listed for many years including 2019 to 2025 and earlier. A 50 miles trail ultra in the Yorkshire Dales with 2,593 m of ascent, starting and finishing at Malham Showfield. The route follows the Pennine Way and Yorkshire Three Peaks, includes five checkpoints, GPS tracking and an 18 hour cutoff.

A 14 kilometre fell race with 1,065 metres of ascent visiting Wetherlam, Swirl How and the Old Man of Coniston. Navigation is by map and compass only and entrants must have fell running experience.

Marked and marshalled trail races in Staveley across 5k, 10k and half marathon routes that use valleys, fells and mixed underfoot surfaces. The event village includes food stalls, live music and race commentary.

Experience a traditional fell race in the scenic Lake District with the Storth Stampede. This event features a nine kilometer senior course and dedicated junior races for younger athletes looking to test their skills on the hills.
