Austwick Amble Fell Race

The Austwick Amble Fell Race is a 13 km loop in the Yorkshire Dales National Park that passes through Crummockdale. The route gains approximately 365 m of ascent and is described as well marked. The event is held in Austwick and is organised by Austwick Street Market.

Distances and junior categories:

  • Senior race: 13 km loop with 365 m ascent.
  • U10 race: 2 km.
  • U12 race: 2.5 km.
  • U14 race: 3.2 km.
  • U16, U18 and U20 races: 4.3 km.

Junior races are organised by age category from under 10 up to under 20, with overall and age group prizes. Ages are recorded as at 31 December; entrants to the U10 race must be aged 8 or over on the day. Competitors must be 18 or older to enter the senior race.

Entries are managed through SiEntries. Entry fees listed are £8.00 for seniors and £3.00 for juniors. Entries open on 31 December 2025 and close on 19 May 2026.

Prizes include £30 for race winners and a £50 bonus for any senior breaking the men's or women's course record. Current course records are 48:25 for men and 55:59 for women.

Take on the Cautley Horseshoe fell race near Sedbergh on 6 May 2026, a short but brutal 7.5 km with 805 m of ascent and spectacular upland views. Entry on the day is £5 and the Cross Keys Inn will be open for post race food and drink.

A midweek fell race around Scorton and Nicky Nook near Garstang on 7 May 2026. The BS course covers 5 miles (8 km) and 1000 ft of ascent; entry is limited to 140 and includes free soup and a roll for all runners.

A Wharfedale Harriers moorland race on Thursday 7 May 2026 covering about 7 miles and 1100 ft of ascent. Runners start at Barrier Car Park, touch the gate by Dick Hudsons Pub on the moor and return while choosing their own route.

A multi distance trail event at Brockholes Nature Reserve featuring 10K, half marathon, marathon and ultra options within a six hour limit. Entry fees vary by affiliation and two pounds per entry supports the reserve.
