Secret Santa Tinsel Half Marathon

Event overview

The Serious Santa trail races take place on Saturday 6 December 2025 at Cwmdu Village Hall, Nr Crickhowell, Black Mountains, Powys (NP8 1RW). Distances offered are:

• Half Marathon
• Ten Miles
• 14 km

Entries open 18 February 2025 and close 30 November 2025. Minimum age is 17 on the event date. An 8-hour cut-off applies to the events. The organiser is Limitless Trails.

Course and conditions

All routes start from Cwmdu Hall and head west towards Bwlch Mountain inside the Brecon Beacons National Park. Routes follow the Beacons Way until they split on Mynydd Llangorse. The Half Marathon follows trails on Cockit Hill and returns via Cefn Moel; the Ten Mile and 14 km turn back earlier. Terrain is technical and can include rocky paths, boggy moorland, narrow single-track trails and some forest sections. Courses will be fully marked and supported by back runners.

Facilities, prizes and requirements

Facilities include refreshments, toilets, parking (fee), a full medical team and sports nutrition provision. There are two refuel zones on route, online results and event photography. Finisher items and awards include a bespoke medal and handcrafted slate trophies for top finishers, plus category prizes for older vet categories. The event is cup free; participants should bring a reusable cup.

Mandatory kit is checked at registration and may be checked during the event. Required items include waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest, capacity for 1 litre fluid, food, map or downloaded GPX, phone, hat and gloves, appropriate trail footwear, basic first aid and a foil blanket.
