The BOWUM (Borderlands of Wales Ultra Marathon) is scheduled for 4 April 2026. It is a circular trail ultramarathon of 30 miles in Monmouthshire, Wales. The route uses parts of the Three Castles Walk and the Offa's Dyke Path and links the three medieval castles Skenfrith, Grosmont, and White Castle. This is the inaugural edition of the event.

Route, support and entry

The route goes through rolling hills, valleys and villages in the borderlands between Wales and England. There are 3 checkpoints along the course. Checkpoints are fully manned and stocked with snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seating, power banks and music. Organisers will accommodate dietary requirements submitted at registration. There are no time limits for completion.

Recommended kit listed by the organisers includes appropriate footwear, a 1 litre water carrier, mobile phone, head lamp or other light source for tunnels or night use, foil blanket, waterproof jacket and rucksack. Entry includes a Pegasus medal, post-race care, fully stocked checkpoints and event crew support.
