Event overview

Limitless Trails stages a winter trail event with multiple distances in the Brecon Beacons, with headquarters at Cwmdu Hall. Routes use mountain ridges and sections of the Beacons Way, with rocky paths, boggy moorland, narrow single-track trails and some forest sections. Checkpoints are described as well stocked with food and drink options including bananas, biscuits, sweets, crisps, water, electrolytes, squash, coke and occasional cake. A full mobile medical unit and support runners operate on the course. The event is canicross friendly; dogs must be kept on leads. An 8 hour cut-off is applied to the distances. Parking is charged.

Course and logistics

All routes start from Cwmdu Hall and head west toward Bwlch Mountain, following the Beacons Way until a split near Mynydd Llangors. The half marathon follows Cockit Hill and climbs toward Cefn Moel before returning to the finish. Mandatory kit is required and checked at registration; required items include waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest, capacity to carry 1 litre of fluid, food, telephone, hat and gloves, appropriate trail footwear, first aid kit, foil blanket and whistle. Facilities at HQ include refreshments, toilets and post-race refreshments such as mulled wine and a mince pie. Prizes include bespoke medals and local Welsh slate trophies for top finishers.
