Sea of Galilee Prayer Run
This is a free multi loop group run around Old Camp Cosby Lake in Clay, AL organized by the Trecho Walk Jog Run group at FBCTrussville. The event begins with a five minute devotional and a short prayer, then participants start together for a group loop run.
The course uses a 1.55 mile lap around the lake. There are ten prayer stations with specific prompts focused on the people in and around the Sea of Galilee. A clock will be visible on site, but the event has no official timing.
Lap counting is handled with dog tags; participants punch a hole in the tag each lap and keep the tag to attach to a finisher medal if desired. Arrows mark the course and multiple water stations are planned. For runners doing many laps, parking is available at various spots around the loop or participants may bring a cooler or large container to serve as a personal aid station.
About the location: the lake was built in 1907 and became the centerpiece of YMCA Camp Cosby in 1922. The 26 acre lake remains a public park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
