Scout Mountain Ultras - Pocatello, Idaho

Scout Mountain Ultras is a two day trail running event held Friday June 5 to Saturday June 6, 2026, in the mountains outside Pocatello, Idaho. The race uses the Mink Creek Group site as the event headquarters and finish line and takes place on the traditional lands of the Shoshone and Bannock.

The event offers multiple ultra distances:

  • 23 miles (about 5,400 ft vertical gain and loss)

Course descriptions note singletrack and mountain terrain, with sections that include Gibson Jack, West Fork and Scout Mountain. Organizers indicate the routes may include snow and muddy conditions depending on winter severity.

Organizers state an emphasis on environmental stewardship, including efforts to reduce waste, lower the event footprint, interface with grassroots conservation groups, and donate race proceeds to conservation and environmental efforts. The event also reserves at least 50 percent of the field at each event for women, femme and non binary participants and specifies a policy against harassment in race and online spaces. An additional fee listed is a $5 donation to Bannock County Search And Rescue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
