Scout Mountain Ultras

Overview

Scout Mountain Ultras is a weekend trail running event held June 5-6, 2026, in the mountains outside Pocatello, Idaho. The Mink Creek Group site is the race headquarters and finish area. The event is held on the traditional lands of the Shoshone and Bannock. The 100-mile race is a qualifier for the Hardrock Endurance Run. The event includes a $5 Bannock County Search And Rescue donation fee.

Courses and race policies

The event offers multiple distances with substantial elevation change and variable trail conditions, including snow and mud on some sections. The organisers describe a focus on reducing environmental impact, working with conservation groups, and donating race proceeds to conservation efforts. The event also commits to allocating at least fifty percent of the field at each event for women, femme and non-binary participants and states a policy of no tolerance for harassment in race or online spaces. • 100 miles - complete tour of Scout Mountain area, ~23,800 ft gain and loss.
• 50 miles - listed as 53.8 miles, over 10,900 ft gain and loss.
• 50 km - about 7,400 ft ascent and descent; includes Gibson Jack and West Fork.
• 23 miles - loop summiting Scout Mountain, over 5,400 ft gain and loss; may have snow.
