Say My Name 5K and 1 Mile Walk
The Say My Name event takes place on May 30, 2026, in Lewes, Delaware, with activities centered at American Legion Post 17 and using the Cape Henlopen State Park Trail. The event honors children who have faced cancer and supports families affected by pediatric illness.
The event benefits Rylie’s Smile Foundation and includes on-site and virtual participation options. Packet pick up is offered the night before and on the day of the event. A silent auction and live music are part of the post-event activities at the Legion pavilion. Participants are invited to pass dedicated signs along the trail and speak the named child’s name as they pass.
Distances offered:
- 5K run / walk
- 1 mile non competitive walk
- Virtual 5K with mailed shirt
- Kiddie K for children 9 years and under
Amenities include a race souvenir for each registrant, post race refreshments provided by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and beer and seltzers for participants age 21 and older. Awards are presented for overall and age group finishers, and competitive walking categories are specified. Timing uses MYLAPS BibTag chip timing managed by R2R Timing.
