Murderkill Ultramarathons - Killen's Pond State Park, Felton DE

Murderkill Ultramarathons take place at Killen's Pond State Park in Felton, DE on August 8, 2026. The event uses a roughly 3.10-mile dirt loop contained within the park. The loop is mostly shaded, includes some roots and rocks, and has about 80 feet of climb per loop. A short paved/parking-lot section (about 0.28 miles) and an aluminum footbridge (about 0.2 miles) are part of the route.

Races are run in a "Fat Ass" style. They are self-supported with a community table for shared food and drink; water is provided but no guaranteed aid stations. There are no automatic chips, medals, or included shirts unless purchased. Timing is manual; organizers will check loops and record finish times.

The picnic area serves as the race base. Bathrooms are located approximately 50 yards from the picnic tables; a porta-john may sometimes be placed near the boat ramp. Parking is ample and adjacent to the course. The park follows a pack-in, pack-out policy; participants are expected to carry out their trash.

Each race is capped at 30 entrants, with no waitlist, no transfers, and no refunds. Entry fee is capped at $40 plus registration fees; excess funds are donated to the park.
