Race4Warriors Half Marathon

The Race4Warriors event is centered at American Legion Post 17 in Lewes, Delaware, and includes a half marathon along with 5K and 10K challenges. The Half Marathon covers 13.1 miles through Cape Henlopen State Park and the historic Fort Miles, using hardened surfaces and crushed gravel trails.

Race options include standard run, race-walk, and a Heavy March that requires participants to carry a 15 lb pack. For the Half Marathon Heavy March the pack contents are nonperishable foods to be donated to homeless veteran shelters after the event. All three distances are USATF certified and all races start and finish at the same location.

Event logistics note packet pickup is available the day before the race at American Legion Post 17 and also on race day near the starting area. Registered participants receive a race medallion at the finish and those registered by May 3 are guaranteed an event t-shirt. A free raffle ticket is provided to entrants for event prizes and a concert.

The event combines competition, an educational Middle East historical exhibit, and a Celebration of Warriors with local vendors and live music. The program emphasizes connecting military and civilian communities and honoring veterans through participation and community activities.
