28th Milford Cross Country Booster Reindeer Stampede 5k

The Milford Cross Country Booster Reindeer Stampede 5k is an annual athletic event held at Killens Pond State Park in Felton, Delaware. The 2026 edition marks the 28th anniversary of the race, which serves as a benefit for the Milford High School Cross Country program. The event is held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

Participants can choose from the following categories:

  • 5k Run Walk
  • Competitive Walking 5k

The competitive walking category is reserved strictly for those who intend to walk the entire course without jogging or running. The race is professionally chip timed using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System.

The event takes place within the grounds of the state park, where vehicle parking is available; however, standard State Park entry fees apply. For safety and insurance reasons, dogs are not permitted on the course.

Participants receive several amenities, including long sleeve tee shirts and access to a post-race gathering featuring apples, donuts, and water. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female masters, who receive custom wooden reindeer. Additional awards are provided for the top three finishers in five-year age groups ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over, as well as the overall top male and female walkers.
