Sawmill Ultra : Mt Charleston, NV
Sawmill Ultra is a trail event held in Lee Canyon within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near Mt Charleston. The course is composed of three counterclockwise loops with approximate lengths of 5.64 miles, 8.2 miles, and 4.3 miles. Solo and relay options are offered.

For three person relay teams all three loops must be completed by the full team. Each team member runs one loop and tags the next runner when finished. One circuit of the three loops totals about 19.22 miles; running the circuit twice totals about 38.45 miles. All loops are run in the order 5, then 8, then 4 mile loop.
The event is cup less; participants should bring hydration packs to refill at aid stations. Marathon and ultra entrants receive gel electrolytes and Gatorade is served. Packet pickup and a bag drop area are located at the staging area shortly before the race. Hot food and hot coffee will be available on site, and canned beer will be available to those over 21 with ID.
The Sawmill area sits around 7,500 to 7,600 feet in elevation. Early June temperatures can vary; runners may observe local trees, wildflowers, and wildlife along the course. Parking is at Sawmill Trailhead about one third of a mile up the road and a short walk back to the start. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women in each distance.
