Red Rock Canyon Ultra - Blue Diamond, NV

Red Rock Canyon Ultra offers three trail distances in the Red Rock National Conservation Area near Las Vegas, Nevada. The event lists the following distances:

  • 100K
  • 50K
  • 17K

The 100K course starts at the Red Rock Visitor Center lower parking lot and leads through Aztec sandstone canyons and washes, across quarries, and around limestone formations. It crosses Red Rock and Cottonwood Valley and reaches the base of a feature called Satan's Escalator before finishing in the town of Blue Diamond. The 50K and 17K routes start at specified locations; the 17K starts at Blue Diamond Park.

Aid stations are placed along the courses at named locations and approximate mile markers, including Lost Creek (mile 7), South Oak Creek (mile 15.5), Blue Diamond (mile 19.5 and mile 27.5), Mud Spring, Late Night, Red Valley, and Satan's Escalator. The 17K does not have an aid station and participants should carry personal hydration.

Logistics include remote parking and shuttle service for 50K and 100K participants and local parking for 17K and spectators. Drop bag and crew access points are identified at several aid stations. Packet pickup is held the Friday before the race at CraftHaus Downtown. Detailed course maps and participant instructions are provided for each distance.
