Red Rock Canyon Ultra : Blue Diamond, NV
Red Rock Canyon Ultra is a set of trail races held in the Red Rock National Conservation Area near Las Vegas, with courses that travel through Aztec sandstone canyons and washes, past quarries, and around ancient limestone formations. The 100K course crosses Red Rock and Cottonwood Valley, passes the base of an area called Satan's Escalator, and finishes in the town of Blue Diamond.
Aid stations and crew access are provided at multiple locations along the longer courses, including Lost Creek (mile 7), South Oak Creek (mile 15.5), Blue Diamond (around miles 19.5 and 27.5), Mud Spring, Late Night, Red Valley, and Satan's Escalator; the 100K finish is listed near mile 62.5. The 17K course does not have an aid station; participants on that course must carry their own water.
Logistics include remote event parking for 50K and 100K participants with shuttle service to the start and a separate parking area for 17K participants and spectators at Blue Diamond Park. Drop bag and crew access points are available at Blue Diamond, Late Night, and Red Valley aid stations. Packet pickup is held the Friday before the race at CraftHaus Downtown. Course maps and a participant instructions document are provided for runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
