Saturn Running - Midweek Chasing Numbers Feb 2027

Saturn Running stages a Midweek Chasing Numbers event at The Last Hop in Staines. The event aims to provide low-cost midweek running opportunities so participants can build their numbers or pursue personal distance goals. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules; runners in UK Athletics affiliated clubs receive a £2 discount. Membership offers the lowest entry price, guaranteed entry and a mini-me medal pin.

This is a seven hour Time Challenge that lets participants control their distance. The minimum official distance is 3km. There are designated 3k and 5k turn points within the lap to support UK Athletics age rules.

Distances offered:

  • 3 km minimum (part of a lap)
  • Full lap: 7 km or 4.37 miles
  • Alternative loop may be 3.28 miles depending on conditions
  • Half marathon requires 3 laps
  • Marathon requires 6 laps
  • Ultra requires 7 or more laps
  • 50 km option available

The course follows a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% is on a well-made path or tarmac; the rest is grass and light trail that can become muddy. Road shoes are generally suitable; trail shoes may help on slippery sections.

Finishers of at least 3km receive a medal; pins are issued for half-marathon distance and above. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start and finish of each lap. The Last Hop has toilets but no separate changing rooms or showers. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park, Staines TW18 4TP. A non-secure bag area is provided. Headphones are allowed and participants should be considerate of other public footpath users.
