The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North

This is a 7 hour Time Challenge event held at Durham Amateur Rowing Club on a signed trail course along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. Participants may choose their own distance; the minimum distance to be an official finisher is 3 km. A full lap is 7 km (about 4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. Turn points at 3 km and 5 km are provided within the lap.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance and longer and will be attached to the medal ribbon. A standard goody bag is provided to finishers and a vegan goody bag option is available. Aid and drinks tables are located at the start and finish of each lap with a selection of drinks and snacks including crisps, cheese, fruit, cookies and vegan options.

Venue facilities include toilets and changing. Bag drop is available near the start and finish but is not staffed and items are left at the participant's responsibility. Pay and display parking is available in the city centre and nearby streets; participants must not use the rowing club car park. Final race day instructions are sent by email in the week before the event and race numbers are picked up at registration on the day. Trail runs nearby

A 10 km trail race in Chopwell Woods with an unconventional staggered start where runners choose when to begin and the clock runs continuously. Entrants must be 16 or older and entries are handled through SiEntries.

Five and ten kilometre trail runs around Derwent Reservoir on 17 May 2026, with firm trails, some grass and woodland. Live chip timing, Canicross friendly, finishers get a medal and merchandise.

A **10 km** trail race on a fast, flat course, open to all ages and abilities. All entries get a medal and goody bag and top two men and top two women receive prizes, with spot prizes and a series league table.

A 7 hour timed trail event in Durham along the River Wear with looped laps from a 3 km minimum. Finishers receive a themed medal and goody bag and distance pins are available for half marathon and longer.
