The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North

The Snow Globe Gallop is a time challenge event taking place in Durham. Participants have access to a 7-hour time limit to complete as many laps as they choose. The course is situated at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club and follows a trail along the River Wear, offering views of the local Cathedral.

The event utilizes a lap system where a full loop is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles). The course is fully signed, and a turn point is available at 3 km to accommodate shorter distances. Specific milestones are achieved by completing a set number of laps:

  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • Half Marathon (3 laps)
  • Marathon (6 laps)
  • 50 km
  • Ultra Marathon (7 or more laps)

The event is open to runners and walkers of all abilities. An aid station is located at the start and finish of each lap, providing various drinks and snacks, including sweet, savoury, and vegan options. All finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Runners completing a distance of a half marathon or further are also eligible for specific distance pins.

Facilities at the race headquarters include toilets and changing areas. A non-secure bag drop is available near the start and finish area. Participants are required to use pay and display parking in the city centre as parking at the rowing club is not permitted. Number pick-up takes place at the registration desk on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
