The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North
The Snow Globe Gallop is a 7 hour Time Challenge event on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules.
Distances and lap structure include:
- 3 km minimum, part of a lap
- Full lap: 4.37 miles / 7 km (may change to a 3.28 mile loop)
- 3 laps equals a half marathon
- 6 laps equals a marathon
- 7+ laps counts as an ultra
- 50 km distance available
The course is a signed trail run along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. A 3 km turn point and a 5 km turn point are provided within the lap to help comply with UK Athletics age rules. Walkers are permitted and headphones are allowed.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer finishes. All finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan goody bag option. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start/finish of each lap, offering drinks and snacks including crisps, cheese, fruit and cookies, with vegan options.
Race HQ provides toilets and changing facilities. A bag drop is available but unattended, and items are left at the participant's responsibility. There is pay and display parking in the city centre and nearby streets; parking in the rowing club car park is not permitted. Members receive a lower entry price and guaranteed entry, and UK Athletics affiliated club members receive a small entry discount. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
