Saturn Running - Santa Run North

Saturn Running presents a festive 2.5 km or 5.0 km fun run at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU on 12 December 2026. The course runs along a stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required.

Distances:

  • 2.5 km 1 lap
  • 5.0 km 2 laps

Runners of every age may compete in line with UK Athletics distance limits. Finishers who complete one lap of the 2.5 km course receive a themed medal and a goody bag. An aid table and drinks table are available at the start and finish of each lap, offering drinks and a selection of snacks, including vegan options.

Race headquarters provide toilets and changing facilities. A bag drop area is available near the start and finish; this is not staffed and items are left at the participant's own risk. There is pay and display parking in the city centre and nearby streets; participants must not park in the rowing club car park.

Final race day instructions are sent by email in the week before the event. Number pick up is on the day at race registration. Headphones are allowed. The event takes place on public footpaths and participants should be considerate of other path users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
