Remembrance Run 2026 - North East

Saturn Running stages this Remembrance Run at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham, DH1 3JU. The event takes place along the River Wear and the course is classified as a trail run with views of the Cathedral. The route is fully signed.

The event is organised as a timed challenge lasting 6 hours and 32 minutes, giving participants control over the distance they cover. The minimum distance to be an official finisher is 3 km. A two minute silence will be observed during the event and two minutes will be deducted from running times.

Distances available include:

• 3 km minimum
• 5 km turn point within the lap
• Full lap about 7 km (4.37 miles) may change to a 3.28 mile loop
• Half marathon equals 3 laps
• Marathon equals 6 laps
• Ultra is 7 or more laps; 50 km option available

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a Remembrance medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances and are attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available. Aid and drinks tables are provided at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items.

Toilets, a bar and showers are located at the rowing club. Pay and display city centre parking is nearby; parking in the rowing club car park is not permitted. A non-secure bag drop is available. Headphones are allowed. Final race instructions are sent by email in the week before the event and race numbers are collected at registration on the day.
