Saturn Running : Remembrance Run 2026 (North)

Saturn Running stages a Remembrance run in Durham at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club along the River Wear. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. The course is a signed trail with views of the Cathedral.

This is a 6 hour 32 minute Time Challenge that lets entrants choose their own distance. The minimum official finishing distance is 3 km. A full lap is given as 4.37 miles / 7 km but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The lap contains 3 km and 5 km turn points to support younger runners and UK Athletics distance rules. Laps required for standard distances are described by the organiser and a 50 km option is available.

Distances offered:

  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • 50 km and Ultra Marathon
  • Time Challenge

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a Remembrance medal. Distance pins are supplied for Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra achievements and are attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag is also available. Aid and drinks tables are provided at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. A two minute silence is observed during the event and two minutes are deducted from running times.

Venue facilities include toilets, a bar and showers at the rowing club. There is nearby city centre pay and display parking and on-street parking; participants must not use the rowing club car park. A bag drop is provided but is not secure. Headphones are allowed. The course is fully signed and runs on public footpaths, so runners should be considerate of other path users.
