The Dun Holm Challenge 2026 - All Days takes place on 21 May 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. The event can be entered as all five days together or as individual days. It includes a 7 hour Time Challenge format that lets participants choose their distance, with a minimum distance of 3 km.

Course and race format

The course runs along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (7 km) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap. It is 3 laps for a half-marathon, 6 laps for a marathon and 7 or more laps for an ultra.

Facilities, awards and other information

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are issued for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra distances. Those who enter all five days may receive a T-shirt in sizes XS to XXL; shirts are ordered after the event and are usually available about six weeks later. Toilets and changing are at race HQ. Bag drop is unstaffed and left at the participant’s responsibility. Aid and drinks tables are provided each lap with sweet and savory options and vegan choices.
