Saturn Running Smurf Run - Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club, Egham

Saturn Running stages the Smurf Run at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club on Riverside in Egham. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Entry prices range from £18 to £35, with a lower member price available and a £2 discount for members of UK Athletics affiliated clubs.

The event is run as a seven hour Time Challenge. The minimum recorded distance for a finisher is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km or 4.37 miles but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap and lap counts correspond to half marathon, marathon, ultra and a 50 km option.

The course follows a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% of the route is on a well made path or tarmac; the remainder is grass and light trail and can become muddy. Road shoes are suitable year round; trail shoes can be used for extra grip.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are awarded for half marathon or longer distances and are attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start and finish of each lap.

Toilets and changing facilities are at race HQ. Bag drop is unstaffed and items are left at the participant's responsibility. A large pay on exit car park is at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Race instructions are sent by email in the week before the event and numbers are picked up on the day. Headphones are allowed and runners should be considerate of other path users.
