Eggcellent Easter Pink Run : Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club
The Eggcellent Easter Pink Run is the second day of a five day series held at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club in Runnymede, Egham. Participants who complete at least 3 km receive an Easter egg themed medal in pink and a goody bag. A vegan goody bag option is available.
This event is organised as a seven hour Time Challenge so runners choose how many laps to complete. The minimum official finisher distance is 3 km. A full lap is described as 7 km (approximately 4.37 miles) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. A 3 km turn point and a 5 km turn point are marked within the lap to support age specific distance rules. Half marathon, marathon, 50 km and ultra distances are possible by completing the required number of laps. Distance pins are awarded from half marathon distance and above and one pin is attached to the medal ribbon.
The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% of the route is on well made path and tarmac and the remainder is grass and light trail which can become muddy. Road shoes are suitable year round though trail shoes may help on softer sections.
Facilities at the race HQ include toilets, changing and a cafe. Bag drop is unmanned and car parking is pay on exit at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Aid tables at the start and finish of each lap offer a mix of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Headphones are permitted and the route follows public footpaths so participants are asked to be considerate of other path users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
