St David's Day Dragon Run 2027

St David's Day Dragon Run 2027 is a Saturn Running event held at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare, Wales on 28 February 2027. The event is run as a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose how far to run, with a minimum official finisher distance of 3 km.

The course consists of laps around Dare Valley Country Park on well maintained footpaths with views of the surrounding countryside. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (7 km) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to allow younger runners to meet UK Athletics distance rules. Laps correspond to standard distances: 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or more for an ultra. A 50 km option is also available.

A £22 entry price is available only to members; members are guaranteed entry and receive a mini-me medal pin at each event. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins are provided for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra distances and are attached to the medal ribbon.

Facilities include toilets, a nearby cafe serving hot drinks and food, free parking and an aid table with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items at the start and finish of each lap. Bone conducting headphones only are allowed. A bag drop is provided but is not secure. Final race instructions and number pick up are organised on the day and by email in the week before the event.
