The Saturn - Remembrance Run - North East is a timed running event on Sunday, 8th November 2026 in Durham. The event takes place at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club.
Course and Format
This is a timed event of 6 hours and 32 minutes. Participants choose their own distance by completing laps. The standard full lap is 4.37 miles (7km), but this may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on conditions. There are also shorter turn points for a 3km or 5km distance. A half marathon is 3 laps, a marathon is 6 laps, and an ultra marathon is 7 or more laps. A 50km distance is also available.
The course runs along the River Wear with views of Durham Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. The route is fully signed.
At 11am, there will be a 2-minute silence for remembrance. This time will be deducted from each participant's total running time.
Event Details
All participants who complete at least 3km will receive a Remembrance-themed finisher's medal. Distance pins for a half marathon, marathon, 50km, and ultra are available for those who achieve those distances.
An aid station at the start/finish area provides drinks, crisps, cheese, fruit, cookies, and vegan options.
Facilities include toilets, changing rooms, showers, and a bar within the Durham Amateur Rowing Club. There is space for bag drop, but it is not secure. Nearby on-street and city centre parking is available.
