SATURN - Remembrance Run 2026 - North East
This is a timed running challenge held in Durham along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. The course is a signed trail route and requires no navigation experience. Runners choose how many laps to complete within the event time limit. A two minute silence will be observed during the event; two minutes will be deducted from each participant's time to reflect this pause.
Runners and walkers may take part. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a Remembrance medal. A goody bag is provided to finishers, with a vegan goody bag option available. Distance pins are awarded for longer achievements, including Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins.
An aid table and drinks are available at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of sweet and savoury snacks, plus vegan options. Toilets, bar and showers are provided at Durham Amateur Rowing Club. There is nearby free on-street parking or pay and display city centre parking. A non-secure bag drop is available at the start/finish; items cannot be watched at all times. Headphones are allowed. The route runs on public footpaths; participants are asked to be considerate of other path users.

- Full lap 7 km (4.37 miles); may change to a 3.28 mile loop.
- 3 laps equals half marathon.
- 6 laps equals marathon.
- 7 or more laps equals ultra; 50 km option available.
