SATURN - Remembrance Run 2026 - North East

This is a timed Remembrance run organised by Saturn Running in Durham on 8 November 2026. The event is a time challenge of 6 hours 32 minutes that gives participants control over how many laps they complete. The minimum distance to be an official finisher is 3 km.

The course is a fully signed trail along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral, so no navigational experience is required. There are turn points within the lap at 3 km and 5 km to help younger runners meet UK Athletics distance rules. Lap lengths described by the organiser include a full lap of 7 km (4.37 miles) which may be subject to change.

The event format links laps to common distances:

  • Minimum distance 3 km
  • Full lap about 7 km (4.37 miles)
  • Half marathon: 3 laps
  • Marathon: 6 laps
  • Ultra: 7 laps or more; 50 km option available

A two minute silence will take place during the event; those two minutes are deducted from participants' running times. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a Remembrance medal. Distance pins, goody bags including a vegan option, and aid and drinks tables with vegan snacks are provided. Toilets, bar and showers are at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club. Parking is nearby on-street or pay and display. Headphones are allowed. Minimum age is 12 years; age rules apply for distances over 45 km.
