Saturn - Remembrance Run - North East

The Saturn Remembrance Run in Durham is a timed challenge event held at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club. Participants have a total of 6 hours and 32 minutes to complete as many laps as they choose. The course follows a signed trail along the River Wear, offering views of the local Cathedral.

The event is designed to accommodate various distances based on the number of laps completed. A full lap typically measures 7 km (4.37 miles), though this may be adjusted to a 5.28 km (3.28 mile) loop depending on ground conditions. Specific distances are achieved through multiple laps:

The event includes a mandatory two-minute silence at 11:00 am to honor fallen heroes, and this time is deducted from the final results. Facilities at the rowing club include toilets, changing rooms, and showers. An aid station at the start and finish area provides water along with sweet and savory snacks, including vegan options.

Finishers receive a themed medal and a goody bag. Specific distance pins are awarded to those who complete at least a half marathon. The course is open to all abilities, and walkers are permitted.
