SATURN - The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North
SATURN presents a seven hour timed running event on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. Participants choose their own distance with a minimum requirement of 3 km.
Distances and format
- Minimum distance 3 km as part of a lap
- Full lap 4.37 miles or 7 km (may change to a 3.28 mile loop)
- Half marathon equals 3 laps
- Marathon equals 6 laps
- Ultra equals 7 laps or more; 50 km option available
The course follows a stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. The route is fully signed so no navigation experience is required. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap for compliance with UK Athletics age rules. Walkers are permitted.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Distance pins are issued for half marathon and longer distances. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. An aid table and drinks table are available at the start and finish of each lap with assorted snacks and vegan choices.
On-site facilities include toilets and changing. A non staffed bag area is provided at the start and finish and items are left at participants sole responsibility. Nearby parking is available on-street or via pay and display. Headphones are allowed and runners should be considerate of other path users.
Entry details include a 300 entrant cap, entries close 12/12/2026, minimum age 12 years. Anyone running over 45 km must be 20 years or older; 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km. Transfers cost £5 online up to the day before the event and a deferral fee of £18 applies thereafter. Entry prices listed are Affiliated £32.00 and Unattached £34.00.
