SATURN - Dun Holm Challenge - Day 1 - North

This is Day 1 of a five day series of timed trail events held in Durham. The course runs along a stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is fully signed. The event is a 7 hour time challenge that allows participants to choose how many laps to complete, with a minimum official finish distance of 3 km.

There are marked 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to allow younger runners to comply with UK Athletics distance rules. The regular lap is given as 4.37 miles (about 7 km) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course is classified as trail and is subject to change after a health and safety review.

Amenities at the race HQ include toilets and changing facilities, an aid and drinks table at the start/finish of each lap, a goody bag for finishers with a vegan option, and distance pins for those completing half-marathon distance or more. A themed medal is awarded to any official finisher of at least 3 km. Bags may be left near the start and finish at the owner’s risk. Headphones are permitted.
