Race for Life Pretty Muddy at Stewart Park in Middlesbrough is a 5k obstacle event on Saturday 30 May 2026. The course starts and finishes on grass and loops around Stewart Park using tarmac paths with some grass sections, passing by the Captain Cook Birth Place Museum. The event features obstacle elements where participants climb, crawl and slide; marshals are available to assist and participants may skip obstacles if necessary.

Entry categories and fundraising Participants are listed as adults or children with stated entry prices and a minimum fundraising target of £50. The event requires participants to be 13 years of age or older.

Logistics and meeting point The start and finish lines are located in the large field next to the main Stewart Park car park. Start times are organised in staggered waves, with each wave separated by 15 minutes. Parking is limited in the main car park and at Prissick Football Fields across the road; blue badge parking is in the Stewart Park car park. Electric charging points are available in the Stewart Park car park.

Travel and facilities Public transport access includes the number 63 bus and Marton train station, approximately a 10 minute walk away. On-site facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not wheelchair accessible, dogs are not allowed, and there are no bike racks or suitable facilities for pushchairs.

A circa 37 mile self-navigated ultra from Goathland visiting five Triangulation Pillars, open to solo participants or pairs. Competitors follow public rights of way, visit checkpoints in order and must carry mandatory navigation and safety..

Circular trail races from Swainby Village Hall with 7 mile and 16 mile options through moorland and forest. Marked routes, feed stations, checkpoints and downloadable GPS files.

A coastal race on 19 April 2026 from South Shields Pier to Roker Pier, about 7 miles along cliff paths past Marsden Rock and Souter Lighthouse. Entries open 2 February with separate fees for UKA registered and non registered runners.

A series of organised trail races by Trail Outlaws with distances from 5K to Half Marathon, fully marked and marshalled. Series entry offers a discount and a presentation evening; routes are noted as scenic and well signposted.
