Sanders' Saunter Charity Race is held at Clinton State Park in Lawrence, KS, with the start and finish at Shelter 1, Corps of Engineer. The event is presented by the Lawrence Trail Hawks and is described as the 18th annual running. Registration opens June 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM CT.

Packet pickup is available race morning and Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Lawrence Beer Company WEST. Photographers from Mile 90 will capture race-day images. SWAG details are pending; Hero Runner donations must be received by October 26 to ensure SWAG ordering.

Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers in each race, and a first place Non Binary award in each race. The event is dog friendly; dogs must be securely leashed and cleaned up after by their owners.

The course begins and ends at Shelter 1 and follows a sequence of white, yellow and blue trails including the ridge of Sanders Mound and access to Lake Henry. The 10K uses the Lake Henry aid station and returns on the blue trail. The 25K course includes a single trip to the mound; the 50K is two loops of the 25K course. 25K and 50K runners are required to carry a handheld or hydration pack. Drop bags are available at Lands End and the Start/Finish aid station. Aid stations are located at Lake Henry (optional for some runners) and at Lands End and the Start/Finish area with mile references listed by the organizers.

Runners may change distance on or before race day with a pro rata charge for upgrades. Transfers of entries to other participants are not permitted. No refunds, deferrals, or transfers are allowed since the charity partner changes annually. If the course is unsafe, organizers may provide an approved alternative course; refunds will not be issued for cancellations beyond organizer control.
