Sand to Serengeti takes place on May 17, 2026 at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY. The event offers two trail race distances:
- 10 miles
- 3 miles
The 10-mile course starts at the sandy beach, follows trails around Round Lake, climbs toward an area called the Serengeti, loops the upper sections, and then descends back to the beach. The 3-mile course starts at the beach and runs around the two lakes before returning to the beach.
Logistics and awards
Aid stations on the course will provide water; participants are advised to carry personal hydration or nutrition as needed. Park bathrooms will be open and parking is available in both beach parking lots. Packet pick-up is offered in advance at Fleet Feet in East Syracuse and on race morning.
Swag and add-ons: 10-mile finishers receive a finisher medal, 3-mile participants receive a sports towel. Additional purchase options include a finisher shirt and a neck gaiter. Awards for the 10-mile event include cash prizes for top three male and female finishers and donated gift cards for intermediate and last-place finishers. The 3-mile awards are ribbons for top finishers. The event partners with a local not-for-profit and includes local-business promotions, a raffle, and a bib tear-off for a post-race food or drink option.
