San Felipe Shootout (March 21, 2026)

The San Felipe Shootout is a multi-distance trail event held at Stephen F. Austin State Park (Park Rd 38, San Felipe, TX 77473). The event includes separate races and a combined option called The Triple, which links the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon back-to-back for a cumulative time. Shootout (Triple) participants must start each race at the gun. A non-timed Kids Kilometer is offered for children aged 12 and under and follows the half marathon start.

Logistics, courses and awards

Packet pickup is available at the SFASP dining hall on the day before the race and on race day at the start/finish area. Course routes for the 5k, 10k and 13.1M are published online. Registered participants and volunteers do not need a guest park pass; all other guests aged 13 and older require a purchased guest park and concert pass. The guest pass includes park entry, event access, live music and parking; it must be bought online in advance. Camping must be reserved separately through the state park reservation system; camping rules note no car camping and no parking off pavement. Finishers receive unique medals for the 5k, 10k and half marathon; Triple participants receive all three. Prizes for first overall and masters overall are listed as shotgun shells for male and female winners.
