The San Felipe Shootout is a multi-distance trail race held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Park Road 38 in San Felipe, Texas, inside Stephen F. Austin State Park on the Brazos River. The event features the following race options:

  • The Triple (5k, 10k, and Half combined for a cumulative time)
  • Kids K (open to ages 12 and under; non-timed)

The Triple requires runners to start each race at the gun and records a cumulative time across the three races. Finishers receive distinct medals for the 5k, 10k, and half marathon; Triple participants receive all three. Overall and masters first-place awards are noted as shotgun shells for male and female winners.

Logistics and facilities

Packet pickup and merchandise distribution occur the day before and on the race day at the park dining hall start/finish area. The event site includes live music and a BBQ food truck. Stephen F. Austin State Park offers about six miles of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, and a variety of campsites, including pull-through 30 amp full hook-up RV sites, screen shelters, and tent sites; camping reservations are handled through the park reservation system.
