Night Moves Trail Races : Stephen F Austin State Park
Night Moves is a nighttime trail running event held at Stephen F Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The event uses a loop course with a red loop followed by a blue loop that together measure just over 5 km per lap. Distances offered include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon (4 loops with a green add-on on the first loop)
- Marathon (8 loops with green add-on on the first two loops)
- Free kids race
Trails are described as wide and mainly gravel or dirt with a few quick elevation changes. The course will be marked with flags, reflective markers, and ribbons; runners must carry a light and a personal hydration device because the race is cupless. A main aid station is located at the group dining hall start/finish area with a second unmanned water refill point at a road crossing. The aid station provides fluids, electrolytes, snacks, some cooked evening foods, basic medical supplies, and trail care items, with volunteers serving registered runners only.
The group dining hall is the event headquarters for packet pickup, timing, medical support, and a spectator lawn where runners may set up personal drop bags or support areas. Pacers are not allowed and crew assistance is restricted to the start/finish area. Registered runners, volunteers, campers, and children under 13 do not require a park pass; other guests require a guest park pass and wristband.
