Night Moves Trail Races
Night Moves is a nighttime trail running event held at Stephen F Austin State Park in San Felipe, just west of Houston. The course uses a looped route with clear markings, reflective ribbons, and flags; runners must carry a personal light and a hydration device because this is a cupless event.
The event headquarters is the group dining hall. Packet pickup, timing, the main aid station, medical tent, and a spectator lawn with space for personal gear are located there. Parking follows park staff instructions along the right side of the park road beginning at the group dining hall entrance.
The loop combines a red loop followed by a blue loop for just over 5 km per lap. The marathon and half marathon include a green add-on trail on specified early loops. Aid support includes a fully stocked main aid station at the start/finish and an unmanned water refill at a midpoint road crossing. Aid station items listed include water, electrolyte drinks, snacks, sandwiches, and evening cooked options; basic medical supplies are available. Runners are advised that course adjustments may be made for accurate distances and that reflective markings will guide night navigation.
Park guest passes are required for non-registered guests; registered runners, volunteers, campers, and children under 13 do not require a pass.
