Night Moves Trail Races
Night Moves is a nighttime trail running event held at Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The course uses a looped layout; one loop follows the red then blue routes for just over 5 km. Distances offered include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- Free kids race
Trails are wide and mainly gravel or dirt with a few quick elevation changes. The course is marked with reflectors and ribbons. All runners are required to carry a light and a personal hydration device because the event is cupless; a water refill point is available at a road crossing and the main aid station is located at the start/finish area.
The event headquarters is the group dining hall, which houses packet pickup, timing, the main aid station, and a spectator lawn where runners may set up personal support areas. One ground tarp for drop bags will be provided but participants are encouraged to set up their own areas. Pacers are not allowed and crew assistance is limited to the start/finish area.
Aid stations are staffed and reserved for registered runners during the event and typically offer fluids, electrolytes, snacks, warm food in the evening, basic medical supplies, and trail care items. Park access policies require guest passes for non-participant visitors and camping reservations are handled through the state park system.
