Night Moves Trail Races
Night Moves is a nighttime trail running event held at Stephen F Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The event uses a looped course based at the park group dining hall, which serves as packet pickup, start and finish area, main aid station, timing tent, and a place for runners to set up personal support on the lawn.
The trail surface is wide and mainly gravel and dirt with a few quick elevation changes. The course is marked with flags, reflective markings, and ribbons. Runners must carry a personal light and a hydration device because the event is cupless and runners are responsible for their own bottles or flasks.
Distances offered include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Free kids race
One loop equals the red then blue segments for just over 5 km. The marathon and half marathon include an additional green add-on trail on early loops. The main aid station at the start/finish is fully stocked and a second unmanned water refill is available at the road crossing. Aid station supplies and crew rules are managed by event staff and volunteers. Pacers are not allowed and crew assistance is limited to the start/finish area. Park guest pass requirements apply for nonregistered visitors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
