Big Tex Backyard Ultra is a last-runner-standing ultramarathon held October 18, 2025, at Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The event uses a backyard format with a 4.17-mile yard starting each hour, looping around a grass-dominated start/finish area and group dining hall shelter, with ample space for runners’ crews and reserved camping.

The park’s wide, well-maintained crushed-gravel trails offer minimal elevation change. Runners total up to 100 miles by completing up to 24 yards; the winner earns a dollar per mile and the second-place finisher a dollar per yard.
