Event details

The Salem 50k is the inaugural edition held on December 6, 2025, at Bush Park in Salem, Oregon. The event is organized by Angry Owl Ultramarathons, which has hosted races at Bush Park for about ten years. The race offers three distances:

  • 50k - 15 loops
  • 30k - 9 loops
  • 10k - 3 loops

Cutoff windows are stated as durations rather than clock times: 50k has an 8.5-hour cutoff and 10k/30k have a 7.5-hour cutoff.

The start/finish location is at the bottom of the soap box derby hill off Mission Street.

Course and aid

The course is a 3.33 km loop entirely inside Bush Park. The surface is roughly half asphalt and half gravel or dirt. Each loop contains two notable climbs, totaling about 120 feet of elevation gain per loop. A Strava route is available for the mapped course.

A basic aid station is located just beyond the start/finish, so runners can access aid every 3.33 km. Aid supplies include water, Tailwind, PB&J, fruit, sweet snacks, salty snacks, and limited hot food. Organizers do not provide cups or bottles; participants may store their own cup or bottle at the aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
