Event overview
The McDonald Forest 50K takes place in Corvallis, OR on May 2, 2026. The race is a 50K trail ultramarathon held primarily on Oregon State University’s McDonald Forest and will include McCulloch Peak. The course uses maintained singletrack trails and features scenic views of the Cascades, the Coast Range and Soap Creek Valley. Organizers note spring wildflowers and dogwoods in early May and a downhill finish on a pine-needle trail.
Entry, limits and support
The field is limited to 300 entrants. Entry fees are $125 standard, $95 for students with a coupon code, and $95 for veterans with a coupon code. A $50 refund is available for withdrawals prior to March 31, 2026. No entry transfers or carryovers to 2027. Registrations close April 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT. Registration by April 1 guarantees a race shirt, hoody and socks.
The race will be cupless. Included with registration are four well-stocked aid stations, post-race soup, bread, fruit, cookies and drinks, a pair of Injinji socks and a Territory Run hoody and race shirt. Prize money totals at least $400. Minors must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver at check-in. Dogs are not allowed.

The event is organized by Corvallis Area Trailrunners, a 501(c)(3) that distributes proceeds to local cross-country teams, the Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit and the OSU Research Forest.
