McDonald Forest, Corvallis OR
The McDonald Forest 50K is a trail ultramarathon run primarily on Oregon State University’s McDonald Forest singletrack. This is the 30th running of the event. The course includes smoothly maintained singletrack, a downhill finish cushioned with pine needles, and sections that return to McCulloch Peak, the highest point in McDonald Forest. Early May scenery often features dogwood blooms, calypso orchids, and views of the Cascades, the Coast Range and Soap Creek Valley.
The race is limited to 300 entrants. The event is cupless for 2026 and will provide four well stocked aid stations and post-race soup, bread, fruit, cookies and drinks. Race included items are a pair of Injinji socks, a Territory Run hoody and a race shirt; registering by March 30 guarantees those items while supplies last. There will be live race tracking and at least $400 in prize money.
Entry fee information: standard entry is $125, student and veteran rates are $95 with the codes STUDENT or VETERAN, and the fee increases by $20 on January 1, 2026. Withdrawals prior to March 31, 2026 are eligible for a $50 refund. No entry transfers or carryovers to 2027 are allowed. Minors must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver at check in. The organizing group, Corvallis Area Trailrunners, is a 501(c)(3) charity that distributes proceeds to local cross-country teams, the Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit and the OSU Research Forest.
